These are some of the movies we have on the list to watch in the coming weeks.
Battlefield Earth
- Plot – After enslavement & near extermination by an alien race in the year 3000, humanity begins to fight back.
- Outlook – We’re rewatching this one to celebrate some Bad Movie Thursday classics. This one deserves more than a half-assed write-up from memory.
Shredder
- Plot – At an exclusive, secluded North American ski resort up on Mount Rocky Summit, brutal slashing, severing and beheading on a group of teenagers are taking place and are believed to be the work of a mysterious skier dressed in black.
- Outlook – One of the first movies we watched before the idea of Bad Movie Thursday had occurred to anyone. I don’t remember it being all that good, but since it happened at such a key moment in human history, it deserves the proper treatment.
The Villain
- Plot – Handsome Stranger has agreed to escort Charming Jones to collect her legacy from her father. But Avery Jones wants the money, and hires notorious outlaw Cactus Jack to ambush Charming. However, Cactus Jack is not very good at robbing people.
- Outlook – Another one of the first movies to be watched by the Bad Movie Thursday crew. One of the governator’s earliest movies, and from what I remember, a live action loony toons movie. Should be good!
Evil Aliens
- Plot – A tabloid television news magazine host and her ramshackle crew have a gruesome close encounter when they set out to investigate an alien abduction in director Jake West’s no-holds-barred splatstick comedy.
- Outlook – This is one of the best movies we’ve seen. It’s got the perfect attitude for a BMT movie. It’s on the list.
Zardoz
- Plot – In the far future, a savage trained only to kill finds a way into the community of bored immortals that alone preserves humanity’s achievements.
- Outlook – Another Classic on the list to be watched again. It is so weird. You can tell it was made in the 70’s by some people on a lot of crazy drugs. Can’t wait.
The Roller Blade Seven
- Plot – In a futuristic society, a sword-wielding roller skater fights evil ninjas, punk roller skaters and is sent on an important rescue mission.
- Outlook – Starring Frank Stalone as “The Black Night” and Joe Estevez as “Saint O’ffender” and made in 1991. Enough said.
John Dies at the End
- Plot – A new street drug that sends its users across time and dimensions has one drawback: some people return as no longer human. Can two college dropouts save humankind from this silent, otherworldly invasion?
- Outlook – This movie sounds pretty awesome. Time and inter-dimensional travel through a drug named ‘Soy Sauce’? Count me in. Plus it pretty much tells you the end of the movie in the title, which frees you from the worry and just allows you to enjoy the ride. More movies should do this.
